A Polish business community has teamed up to launch a groundbreaking water and sanitation project that will provide clean water to Mucklenuck Primary School in Inyathi, Bubi District of Matabeleland North.
Through borehole drilling and installation, the project aims to tackle the water crisis in remote areas of Zimbabwe, particularly in schools, and enhance the well-being of learners and communities.
Led by Tomasz Błaszak (Fogo - power generators - owner), founders of the Siewca Foundation and Adam Goliński, the project seeks to address the challenges faced by schools and communities due to water scarcity. The foundation has a proven track record of constructing world-class Christian schools and is currently building a modern kindergarten in Poland.
The borehole drilling project will provide Mucklenuck Primary School with a reliable source of clean water, improving hygiene standards and reducing the risk of waterborne diseases. It will also ease the burden on students who often have to leave school to fetch water, enabling them to concentrate on their studies.
“We understand the hardship caused by water shortages in schools and communities, negatively impacting children’s education due to limited access to clean water sources,” said Golinski. “After my last visit to Zimbabwe, I realized students were forced to leave school to fetch water, and hygiene standards had deteriorated due to droughts caused by climate change. We believe drilling boreholes will provide schools with a reliable source of clean water, improving the health and well-being of students, staff, and the community.”
To ensure its long-term sustainability, the project involves the school community in all aspects.
“The vision to reach out to the neediest parts of the world, especially drought-affected areas, has inspired us to drill boreholes in Zimbabwean schools,” said Tomasz Błaszak. “Our commitment to invest in Zimbabwe stems from the tremendous potential for business and humanitarian advancements
